3M Scotch #130C Linerless Rubber Splicing Tape (Black 1" x 30 ft)

3M Scotch® Linerless Rubber Splicing Tape 130C is a black, 30-mil (0.76mm) thick, premium grade rubber splicing tape compose of a self-fusing Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) backing with fusible adhesive interlayer.  Commonly used as a primary insulation for cable splice and termination applications up to 69kV (ASTM D4388, Type III).

Tape 130C meets industry specifications and has excellent physical and electrical properties which provide immediate moisture seal and void-free buildups. This tape is rated up to 194°F (90°C) continuous operating temperatures and short term 266°F (130°C) overload service.

Installation Techniques:

This tape shall be applied in successive half-lapped layers by highly stretching tape (for most applications this stretch will reduce the tape width to a minimum of 3/4 original width) throughout the entire application until the required build-up is reached to produce a uniform winding.  This tape should be applied like any rubber tape: that is, the side of the tape wrapped inside the roll should be applied outside on the splice, tacky side up. This will help prevent the roll from getting progressively further away from the work area.
